Irritating Neighbours

My friend Angela wrote about her neighbour mowing his lawn and how much of an annoyance it was. I didn’t realize until yesterday, how much it really irritated me also.
First the husband spent 5 hours weed eating the borders and around the trees and other obstacles on their property. Then the wife brought out the push lawn mower for a 2 hour excercise routine, I’m guessing since she’s always riding a bike or jogging. And, then that wasn’t enough I guess, because then she had the nerve to get on the riding lawn mower just to make sure she cut every damn blade of grass on their acre and a half (half of that happens to be gravel driveway and business use).
This type of thing is pretty much an everyday occurance for them, minus the weed eater. But she does love to ride that lawn mower regularly.
No one’s grass grows that fast.
Is she feeding the grass steroids?
All this being done while I’m sitting out on our newly built deck trying to write in a quiet outdoorsy atmosphere surrounded by trees and nature. My muse wasn’t loud enough to drown out the noise of the machines that drummed in my head while I tried to think clearly.
I think that if I had been writing a story about farm life, the music of their machines would have been the perfect accompaniment to my story.
However since I enjoy writing about otherwold beings such as vampires, werewolves and necromancers, those nasty little machines and people running them just annoyed the shit out of me and hampered my writing creativity.
Have some respect for your neighbours.
Don’t cut your grass every day-give it a chance to grow and stop pissing off everyone around you, who would like to enjoy some outdoor time during the day, without the steady drum of your machines.
Irritated and stifled on a nice summer day,
Thanks a lot!
